Mary Labuschagne
Design Studio.

Mary Labuschagne Design Studio is a Gold Coast based design studio.

We create considered architecture and interiors and are grounded in the belief that exceptional spaces begin with thoughtful design. Guided by clarity, purpose, and refined simplicity, the studio creates environments that are both highly functional and deeply beautiful.

With experience spanning many different sectors including residential homes, retail environments, and transformative renovations, Mary approaches every project with a commitment to understanding how people truly live, work, and connect within a space. Each design is shaped by its surroundings and tailored to reflect the individuality of the client, never formulaic, always intentional.

At the heart of the studio is a design philosophy that balances creativity with practicality. From early concept through to completion, careful attention is given to proportion, materiality, light, and spatial flow, ensuring every detail contributes to a cohesive whole.

Known for a calm and collaborative approach, Mary builds strong relationships with clients, consultants, and builders alike, guiding projects with professionalism and ease. The result is a collection of spaces that feel timeless rather than trend-driven, designed to evolve gracefully over time.

Mary Labuschagne Design Studio exists to craft places that elevate everyday living.

A woman sitting on a gray couch in a living room, smiling while looking at a tablet device. She has blond hair and is wearing a black shirt. Papers and magazines are scattered on the couch and a small wooden table nearby. The room features a large plant, a painting on the wall, a window with blue curtains, and a patterned pillow on another gray couch.

“Every project starts with a conversation. I take the time to understand how you want to live, work or operate in your space - your ideas, your priorities.”

Portfolio.

Mary’s portfolio reflects a considered approach to architecture and interior design.

Each project is guided by a strong understanding of space, proportion, and materiality, resulting in environments that feel both functional and enduring.

From private homes to retail spaces, the work balances clarity and warmth, responding carefully to the existing context while introducing contemporary design solutions.

Attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and a respect for how spaces are used underpin every project.
